Halloween Slashes
As the sun sinks down from the earth's crust, darkness absorbs over. Shadows lurk each corner and whispers of the wind rustling through the naked tree branches. A light mist floats over as the soft giggling of children coming within the fog. They bounce at each step, candy bags full of sweet treats and costumes dazzling the eyes. So happy and cheerful… but then the moon escapes the clouds and shines down; crimson will glisten back with corpses scattered about.
"Let's go, let's go!" Hailey's whiney voice echoing through the hallway. She shuffled her feet with impatience as her Cinderella costume rubbed against her skin, an itch crawling over. Brooklyn exhaled a sigh as she dragged her feet to the front door, rolling her eyes at Hailey. "Fine, let's go." Brooklyn replied with a boring tone. Brooklyn grabbed her candy back with a witch riding a broomstick on it, matching her costume. As Hailey squeaked with excitement and her baby blue eyes sparking with happiness, she spun around and opened the front door, her blonde hair chasing behind her. Hailey mutters softly to herself before following her best friend. The crispy air impacting the girls faces as they stood outside, a shiver coming down each girls backs. The long dirt driveway just exposing in the dark. They walk together side by side, chatting about how much candy they will get. As they reach the street, a small ruffle comes to their side. "What was that?" Hailey whispered quietly as she slid behind Brooklyn, her eyes not moving from where the sound came. Brooklyn remains quiet, her thoughts flooding in and curls her fingers into a fist, her body turning stiff. The moonlight beaming down, the only source of light. A small crack of a stick comes from the bush and shadows forming into shapes and symbols about on the ground. Hailey's lungs tighten as a shriek comes from her, her world spinning for a split second before smashing into the ground. Thinking quickly, Hailey smashes her tiny fist into the first thing she feels. A loud gasp comes from the creature on top of her before she feels the weight off her chest and see's the night sky. "OW!" The small boy wearing ragged clothes and white makeup with fake blood scowls at Hailey. "Don't do that you stupid!" Hailey gets to her feet, shouting as doing so. A snicker escapes Tristan as he watches Hailey brush off the dirt from her dress. Brooklyn towers over both with disappointment in her eyes, her creamy chocolate arms folded across her chest as her jet black hair dances in the wind. "We should go the abandon car, before trick or treating… unless you're scared?" Tristan grins at the end of his sentence, gazing between both girls. Hailey and Brooklyn look at each other and starts laughing, nodding in the direction of Tristan.
The abandon car remains still as if it was created with the forest that crowds around it. The two girls and boy runs to it, dropping their candy bags and slips inside of the car, interior still in great condition. Tristan and Brooklyn sits at the front, discussing about Tristan's zombie custom. Hailey flickers her blonde hair behind her shoulders before getting out of the car. Walking around the car, seemingly bored, she starts sinking a soft lullaby, "Hush little baby don't you cry, momma's going to make you some apple pie…" Laughing and punching Tristan in the shoulder, Brooklyn winks at him before stopping and noticing Hailey's singing has stopped. Pushing herself up she glances around the forest and speaks to Tristan, "where did Hailey go?" Tristan raises his eye and looks around, shrugging. Suddenly a loud squeal comes from the forest. Jumping in fright, both friends stare towards the spot it came from, eyes wide in fright as dreadful thoughts flicker in their minds. A squirrel bounds across to a tree and climbs up, chattering to whatever is in his territory. Letting their breaths out and leaning back into their chairs they let out a nervous chuckle. Brooklyn looks up through the front window to see the starry night, wondering how many stars she could count. Something catches her eyes in the rear view mirror and squints, eyes showing horror and mouth wide open in shock, she turns and looks back, seeing the most unbearable thing. Flies buzzing around, eyes blank and mouth twisted. Hailey's body remains still with some blood tricking down from her mouth. A deep gash exposed some of her spine in her neck, that's basically shredded to pieces. A small tear stain on her dirty cheek, the only flesh that hasn't been slashed.
His nostrils flare as he feels his muscles tense, his appendages moving swiftly. Opening his maw he breaths in the scents that linger in the air. His auds fully perk forward as he hears the death chilling screams of the children. A small smirk forms on his face, his sadistic urge settling… only a bit. His lanterns watching with fierce need for blood; the yellow and golden specks glowing dimly in the light. He leans his eight onto his haunches, sinking his talons into the moist terrain, gathering traction. Unleashing a burst of energy, the werewolf springs forward and chases his prey, gathering ground quickly. He notes as they start to split up and slows down, deciding which one to follow. The male trips and tumbles down to his left, hearing a small scream of pain after. He does a sigh, frowning that this chase is over but remembers he'll get the other female later. Trotting to the male he begins to circle, a low growl coming from his chest. He leans on up his haunches, his built casting shadows as the moonlight shines down on him. He then smashes his front froes into the boy's chest as he hears his ribs cracking. He lifts up his cranium and opens his maw; bloodstained fangs glistening. A deep howl comes from his mouth, twisting into a blood seeking snarl before he sinks his enamels into the fresh meat of the boy's neck, wrapping them around his windpipe and rips. The werewolf looks up, as blood drips from his chin. His pupils narrow into razor slits as he notices the house not to far away. His noise twitches as he breaths in the other female's scent and he can hear her running back home. His ears fold down to his head and picks up the dead body of the boy, clutching his back in his mouth, springing up into a tree and jumps to the next, only a few leaves falling.
Brooklyn feels her legs going numb as she jumps and trips over debris on the ground, only fright keeping her going. Hearing her pants and feeling her heart thump a thousand times was all she could focus on and the house getting closer to her view. As she gets closer she slows downs and starts to think what just happened. What attacked her? Where is Tristan? What about Hailey?! What is she going to tell her parents? What if that THING is still after her? What if its right behind her now?! Not looking back she reaches the stairs and pushes the door open, a low moan coming from it. She tumbles in and rams herself against the wall, looking for the light switch. As her sweaty hands clutch over it she flickers the switch but no light came. A small cry comes from her quivering mouth and looks around, her eyes getting use to the dark. She slowly walks inside and turns into her living room. She smashes her hands over he mouth and tries to hold in her sobs. Right in front of her is Tristan hanging. A rope tied to his neck and his body moving slightly in the air, his eyes closed among with his mouth. His chest is easy to see, ripped wide open and Brooklyn could see some of his ribs mashed in the wrong ways. A creek comes from the stair case and she looks up. A massive black shadow is crouching at the top, staring at her. It looks like it's grinning but she's not to sure. The creature creeps down each step, leaving a drool trail behind it. Brooklyn turns her whole body toward the creature and raises her head up, meeting the werewolf's gaze and holds her breath. Her watery eyes full of hatred and fury. The creature does a small bark as it speeds up towards her. She remains still and holds her ground whispering, "hush little baby don't you cry, Daddy loves you and so do I."
