"Mom! I'm going outside." I said. My mother chuckled,"You need some outside oxygen, you've been cooped up in herefor 2 days." I nodded and rushed outside.
/Silent...why?/ I shook the thought away from my head and continued walking. I looked around the corner and looked at the tall Hickory Tree. I kneeled down and untied my shoes, and took off my socks. I let my shoulders shrug as my toes touched the cool, dewy grass. "Bliss..." I muttered. I walked forward, and leaped up the tree, high up. I looked up, down, left, right, and diagonal. The birds were playing a beautiful song, I was finnaly home. /If only Ryan was here... /
Ryan was my best childhood friend, until he moved to California. We were the best of friends, then, I guess formed a crush on him. My life was heaven until he told me he had to move across the country. On that last day, I was about to tell him I loved him, but he had to go before I had the chance. Ryan would've liked this place, he loved exploring, and trees. He's the best climber I knew, climbing trees everyday. At one time, everyone thought he was living in one. One day in 5th grade, he asked me something. He whispered in my ear,"If you could run away, run away anywhere with someone, who would it be?" This question had lingered in my head for a long time, I never had told him the answer, but every day, he'd ask the same thing. Everytime I'd think about it, my heart would ache.
I let my feet hang over the branch, and closed my eyes, letting the breeze run through my hair. Suddenly, the birds stopped singing, I knew something was wrong. I jumped down from the tree. I felt a tug on my jacket, something pulling me back. "Hey!" I yelled, and turned around, punching my foe in the jaw. "Who are you?" I screamed. The man stayed silent, as he pulled out a gun, and pointed it to my head. My eyes widened. "Wait! Wait! Before you kill me...will you do me a favor?" I asked, my voice small, and child-like. "Depends on what it is."
I gulped. "Take me to California, and you can kill me however way you like. Just please, let me say a goodbye in California."
The man's brow narrowed, as if he was taking this into consideration. "Fine, but you cannot tell anyone, or I'll murder them, and make you watch." He said in a gruff voice. "We must go now, I'll get tickets at the airport, come on." He grabbed me by the arm and dragged me to a dark car with tinted black windows. The airport wasn't far, I looked out at my house as we passed by, knowing that it'd be my last time seeing it.
The airport was busy today, the man dragged me by the to the desk. "What are the cheepest tickets you have to California?" He asked sternly to the lady. "Hm, 30$ each, one-way." The lady said. The man pulled out a wad of money. "Here, just give me the tickets now, I need to get out of here now." The woman nodded and handed him two tickets, and he dragged me. "What time does it say?"
"2:3- RIGHT NOW!" The man started running, and I was keeping up behind, we barley made it. As we got into the plane everyone scowled at us, I fastened my seatbelt, and got ready. "We're lifting off."
In the middle of the ride, I fell asleep, when I woke up, I noticed we had landed. "Come on kid." The man unbuckled my seat belt and dragged me out of the plane. "Alright, your here, where are we supposed to go?"
"BellFlower..." I muttered. "I'll call a cab." He growled.
When the cab was here, and pulled me in. "Take us to BellFlower." The cab-driver nodded and rushed off.
Before I knew it, we were here. /I finnaly get to see Ryan.. / "Let me see if I can find my friend, um, go stay around here, and I'll be back..." The man nodded and I ran off. I can't believe I'm here! I walked up and down the streets, yelling. "Ryan!? Ryan!" I was ready to give up my search, until I seen familiar black hair. "R-Ryan? It's Synicate.." I muttered. He looked over at me, tears were in my eyes. "Syni?" He ran over and gave me a big hug. I soon bursted into tears. "Synii, why are you crying?" He said, brushing hair away from my face. "I-I can't tell you." I sobbed, noticing we were still hugging. "Just don't let go.."
I looked up, noticing he was towering over me. I had always been the taller one. "Ryan...I came to say goodbye...and..." My voice trailed off. "What is it Syni? You can tell me." He looked down at me and smiled. "I love you.." I said it briefely, but my voice shuddered. His eyes widened abit, but he held me again. "I love you too Syni."
He lifted up my chin and kissed me on the lips. /Wholey Crap, didn't see that coming, now did you Synicate?/ I closed my eyes, tears still coming. We just stood there. But then he spoke softly. "Why did you want to say goodbye..?" I couldn't bare to say anymore, but it blurted out. "I'm going to die." I covered my mouth at once, and backed up. "What?! Why!? Who!?"
"I can't tell you Ryan..I'm sorry.." I began crying again. "I have to go.." I whispered. I turned around and wrapped my arms around my shoulders and walked/runned back to town. "I-I'm ready..." I said to the man. "Good, now come on." He dragged me to an alley, and got out a knife, and put it near my neck. I gulped and closed my eyes. "STOP!" I heard a familiar voice..It was Ryan! He rushed forward and kicked the man between the legs, and the man fell to the ground. Ryan held onto my hand with a tight grip and ran to the police office. He began to tell the story. I nodded every once in a while to keep things convincing. As soon as the police officers left, the man bursted in, and shot his gun at Ryan. But his horrible aim landed on Ryan's leg, rather than his head or heart. "Get away from Ryan, *****!" I screamed, and looked around, seeing a loaded pistol on the table, I picked it up and aimed. "Lets hope these nerf guns payed off." I whispered before pulling the trigger sending the bullet straight through the man's heart.

The light shined through the blinds, and my eyelids. I opened them up, and looked at the clock. 9:30... right on time. I blinked the rest of the sleep out of my eyes and sat up, looking around. I didn't bother to get dressed since it was Saturday. The first thing I did was head to the living room and turn on the T.V. The channel was on the nine o'clock news, since my dad usually falls asleep watching T.V. The first thing I noticed in big red letters was: "40 CHILDREN IN THE JACKSONVILLE AREA WENT MISSING." That certainly got my attention in a way I didn't want it to. I shook it off and headed to my room, and turned on the computer. I quickly logged onto Cats Paw Island and started chatting with my friends. But those kids kept lingering in my head, I couldn't get it out. I was worried about Ryan for some reason at the same time.
A few hours later one of Ryan's friends told me he went missing. Things were definatly going down hill. I turned to my other two online friends, Menessi and StoneStar. I talked to them about it, and they said I should investigate. I had noticed my mom came into my room. She looked at me before speaking, "There's a new auto parts shop down the road, I think you should go cheak it out later." She told me quietly. I nodded and looked back at the computer screen, seeing that StoneStar was freaking out. Menessi was missing. StoneStar begged me to find her, I gave him my promise.
Chapter two
"MOM! I'm going to the auto shop." She nodded and I walked outside, noticing one of my friends was playing in her yard, across the street from mine. A dark van pulled up to her yard, and a man came out and put an old potato sack over her and tied it up, putting it in the car. I hesitated as the car pulled past my drive way.
All of the sudden I got a sudden burst of courage and started running after the car, I didn't run far because it turned into the new auto parts shop. I seen them take the sack to the back. I decided to go inside first. I seen lots of teenagers and adults walking around, looking for things, regular new shop stuff. I looked over to the desk and seen an old man, he must've been the clerk. I decided to go back outside, and to the back where I saw the car. At first, it looked like a regular car fix-up garage, but I turned a corner and there were over a hundred kids tied up, or dead. I looked to the right, and saw the most horrifying thing ever. Decapatated heads. Luckily, I had a strong stomach so I held in. I zipped up my jacket and looked around slowly. Good, those men arn't in here.
I scanned the kid's faces. After a few dozen, my eyes locked on one of them. Ryan. I could just feel my fists clutch and my teeth grinding, I seen him laying limply on the floor, I looked over next to him. Menessi and StoneStar. I couldn't move. I was frozen. I seen that Ryan had deep cuts on his stomach and chest, aswell as Stone. Menessi seemed just fine, except for her being knocked out.
I rushed over to Ryan first, and layed my hand on his chest, feeling for a beat. There was one, but it was barley there. I quickly thought and took off my jacket, and wraped it around his chest and stomach. I wrapped my arms around his neck, and gave him warmth. "C'mon Ryan.. wake up.." My voice cracked. "P-Please don't die on me.." I closed my eyes and rested my head on his shoulder. There were minutes of silence until I felt arms wrap around my back. I lifted my head up, and looked at him, he was smiling, but his eyes were filled with pain.
"I have you get you guys out of here.." I sighed and took a few moments to think. I looked at my watch. 5:01pm. An imaginary light bulb sprung over my head. My dad would being passing by to go home by now. "Stay here!" I ran out, and seen his truck driving by. "Dad!" I yelled and flailed my arms like a crazy person. He drove into the grass and stopped. "What do you need hun?" he asked. "I need you to take me and some of my friends back to the house."
He nodded and I ran back inside, seeing that StoneStar was awake, and he was up on his two feet, his wounds must've not have been so bad. All of the sudden, the men bursted out of the doors with guns and knifes, shooting like crazy. Menessi was still knocked out, I didn't know what to do. I runned over to Ryan and grabbed his arms, and Stone helped me lift up his legs, as we ran to my dad's truck, leaving Menessi behind.
Chapter 3
My dad's truck was a 2 seater, so I let Stone sit in the front, and me and Ryan had to sit in the back, in the truck bed. I set him down and sat next to him. The color had returned to his face, and he could sit up. There was silence through some of the ride. I guess Stone had distracted my dad and he forgot to make the turn to go to my house, we kept going through the neighborhood.
I looked down at my hands and sighed, breaking the silence. "I'm glad your alive.." I muttered, looking over at him. He managed a smile and whispered back, "Thanks for saving me." He grabbed my hand and held it. I smiled and looked away, but turned head back to him again. "You know, I wouldn't be able to live with myself if you died, you my whole world." I whispered back.
